Nous recherchons un(e) doctorant(e) pour travailler sur la formation de nouvelles particules dans l’atmosphère marine, avec pour objectif d’identifier les précurseurs du processus et leur lien avec l’activité biologique marine. La thèse consistera d’abord à analyser les données de distribution de taille et de composition chimique (Vocus B2) des particules nouvellement formées qui sont actuellement collectées sur le navire de recherche Le Marion Dufresne. L’étudiant(e) retenu(e) aura ensuite l’opportunité d’effectuer des mesures avec un dispositif expérimental innovant (dont le Vocus B2) à la Réunion dans le cadre du projet ERC HAVEN.

We are looking for a PhD student to work on new particle formation in the marine atmosphere, with the objective to identify the precursors of the process and their connection with the marine biological activity. The thesis will first involve analysing data of the size distribution and chemical composition (Vocus B2) of newly formed particles which are currently being collected on the research vessel Le Marion Dufresne. The successful student will then have the opportunity to carry out measurements with an innovative experimental setup (including the Vocus B2) on Réunion Island as part of the ERC HAVEN project.
